The 3 Pillars

These women taught me the strength to love. How to love self, how to love others, and how to love humanity. Love looks different based upon needs. Love can look like advocacy and resistance. Love can look tenderness and care taking. Love can look like sensitivity and vulnerability. I have the strength of love and the resolve to love by following in the footsteps of my great granny, my grandma, and my mom.

Live to Lead

Developed and implemented equitable behavioral supports for the district and led a team of behavior techs to support the pillar of equity be implemented within school and classroom settings. Leadership is in my core, instilled in me from my grandmother.

Learn to Listen

When I was 5 years old, my grandma was a RN and I would go with her while she took care of the elderly who didn’t have family. This is where I learned to value people and humanity. I learned everyone has a story at a young age and listening pours light in to people and brings forward humanity. The power of listening was instilled in me. The stories and experiences of others moves people forward and validates their existence.

Development of Self

Supported with presenting and building professional learning for over 4,000 teachers. This led me in the direction of learning to love the experience of empowering people to grow and flourish into their best selves to better serve children but also to better serve themselves.

Experiencing my History

My family and I took the Civil Rights tour including visiting Memphis, Birmingham, and Atlanta to show my children the history of our resistance, advocacy, and joy. Aligning with my ancestry led to the influence of equity in my life and for others.

Stick to the Plan

I built organizations and corporations cultural competencies while creating equitable systems through coaching, professional learning, toolkits, and guides. The founding of my company and the impact of my mission instilled in me to live in equity.

Equity Incorporated

Leading over 1,000 leaders in a district-wide Culture and Equity Training and bringing to light some of the historical harm in the educational system, so we can be intentional with building new foundations of equity.
